Bags of the Week: Chanel Finds

Welcome to a new edition of Baghunter’s Bags of the Week, an opportunity for our fans to find out more about some of the rarer bags we have consigned. This week we have a real treat in store for you as we look at three unique and wonderful Chanel finds. These bags are extremely rare and all feature unique designs which help them stand out amongst a crowd. The three bags we are placing under the spotlight this week are a Chanel Dollar Bag Runway Limited Edition, a Chanel Lego Brick Bag in Red, and a Chanel Twisted Mirror Runway Bag in Silver. Let’s take a look at these bags in more detail.

Chanel Dollar Bag Runway Limited Edition

First up we have an eye-catching Chanel Dollar Bag Runway Limited Edition. A one of a kind bag, this is almost impossible to find elsewhere and certainly shows distinction from similar style bags. Crafted from leather and lace, the bag features multiple colors and a dollar bill design on its exterior. The dollar bill design is one created by Chanel and features a picture of Coco Chanel in the center along with a flower and the interlocking Cs symbol either side. Underneath the design are the words “Rue Cambon Paris”, the street where Chanel was founded.

The intricate detailing on the bag is phenomenal. Each part of the dollar bill design is handstitched with many references to Chanel beyond the obvious. You can see the famous quilted diamond pattern is used as the background for the flower and interlocking Cs, while the four number 5s refer to the famous Chanel No. 5 range. The strap also boasts wonderful detailing, crafted from leather and featuring an intertwined metal strap. It measures 10.5”, a perfect height to carry the bag at hip height.

The bag measures 12” in length x 6” in height x 3” in width, a great size for an evening bag where you can place essentials such as a mobile phone, keys, makeup kit, and one or two other items. This bag is from the Fall/Winter Collection 2014/2015 and will never become available again. Luckily, we have managed to consign this bag in pristine condition, meaning it is in the same condition as when it left the factory in Paris. Chanel Lego Brick Bag in Red

Next up we have a truly unique bag that is sure to catch the eye wherever you carry it. This Chanel Logo Brick Bag in Red is crafted from Plexiglas, an unusual and exciting material to craft a bag from. The Plexiglas has been molded and formed into a brick design with the Chanel logo featuring in the center of the bag. This type of craftsmanship is astonishing and with only one single piece of Plexiglas used in the making of this bag it would have taken great skill to achieve this design. The red color of the bag helps it stand out and match many outfits and occasions.

There are various details on the bag help make it completely unique. Featuring silver hardware, which perfectly complements the red color, the bag has a chain strap surrounding red leather making it hardwearing. The bag open via a twist lock which is both easy to maneuver and secure. Another great feature of the bag is the feel of the Plexiglas which is both smooth and extremely durable to protect the items you carry inside.

Measuring 6.5” x 2” x 4.75”, there is a surprising amount of space inside the bag. The interior is lined with luxurious leather and separated by a zippered partition. This allows ample space to store items inside as well as keeping personal items more secure in the zippered section. Chanel Twisted Mirror Runway Bag in Silver

Last, but certainly not least, is this stunning Chanel Twisted Mirror Runway Bag in Silver. Crafted from a combination of stainless steel and leather, this bag is truly one of a kind. The stainless steel material is used as the base while the leather comes in on the sides at the top and bottom to create a chic and wonderful pattern. This combination of materials makes the bag act like a mirror, hence its name and will catch the light wherever you are. As a runway bag, there are very few of these in the world and the opportunity to get your hands on one is not to be missed.

The box design of this bag also makes it unique. As you can see below, the bag is a rectangular shape, however, it is also slightly uneven to create the mirror effect. It feature the famous quilted diamond pattern as well as the interlocking Cs on both the front and back. The interior is accessed via a clasp which is both easy to use and secure for your personal items.

Measuring 8” x 4.5” x 2”, this bag is a great size for essentials on an evening out such as a makeup kit, mobile phone, keys, and purse. The interior is lined with leather for a luxurious feel and to help protect both the items you place inside and the exterior of the bag.
